DM&A to launch Data Warehouse University

Dallas, Tx., October 18, 1998 -- Don Meyer & Associates, Inc., today announced that with:

  1. Many IT organizations having a short list of approved vendors (and DM&A is already providing quality data warehousing sub-contracting personnel services to EDS, The Database Group, R2 Technologies, Triad Data Systems, and many others)
  2. The development of more educational seminars by our senior staff
  3. The shortage of professional skilled Oracle DBAs, Data Modelers, and Cognos DSS Specialists

We will provide the market with the needed skilled resources through our university's core curriculum. 

Don Meyer, President of DM&A, stated, "Our goal is to become known as the industries leading source for skilled data warehousing resources."

The data warehouse university will consist of the following courses:

  1. P1 -- Executive Overview of data warehousing
  2. P2 -- Data Warehouse technical introduction
  3. P3 -- Data Warehouse development methodology
  4. P4 -- Choosing the data warehouse infrastructure tools
  5. P5 -- Data warehouse data modeling
  6. P6 -- Data warehousing for the DBA
  7. CBT1 -- Using Cognos PowerPlay
  8. CBT2 -- Administering & Building Cognos PowerPlay cubes
  9. CBT3 -- Using Cognos Impromptu for building Reports
  10. CBT4 -- Administering Cognos Impromptu catalogs, etc.
  11. CBT5 -- Data warehouse data modeling using IRWIN
  12. CBT6 -- Advanced Oracle Data Base Administration for data warehouses

Note:  Items 1-4 above are currently available, items 5-6 will be available by end of year, and items 7-12 will be available by first quarter of 1999.

DM&A focuses on the design, development, and staffing of data marts, data warehouses, and enterprise reporting environments for large and mid-sized organizations.
